Since its foundation, in 2007, by a team of shareholders with over 15 years of experience in the domestic audiovisual market, SP Televisão has become the flagship independent producer in Portugal. This has been led by the values that underpin its activities – talent, professionalism, transparency and integrity, as well as its output, 15 series and 21 telenovelas. In terms of production facilities, the company has eight studios (covering a total area of 5,100 m2) and 18 editing rooms (video, audio and colour post-production); With over one hundred prizes and nominations for its titles at both national and international festivals, its focus on internationalisation has attracted the interest of other markets, as a result of which the content produced has been sold to over 32 countries.

Serving an international audience
SPi, a member of the SP Group engaged in the development of international projects, has been forming strategic alliances with foreign companies and producers, with the aim of identifying content of great international potential.
One of the focal points has been consolidating activities in Spain, by developing new co-productions. Its portfolio includes Auga Seca, a 6-episode series co-produced with the the Galician production company Portocabo, which was first shown to the international market at MIPCOM 2019, in Cannes, and which was recently acquired by HBO Portugal and Spain. It is concluding the editing of the documentary A Mais Longa Jornada, a co-production between Portugal, RTP and Spain with TVE and the channel Basco ETB, which marks the 500th anniversary of the circumnavigation of the Earth by Fernão de Magalhães and Juan Sebastián Elcano.
As for SP Entertainment, this company focuses on original entertainment content and has the mission of adding new and improved content to the domestic and international world of television. In six years, it has developed original formats for generalist channels and for cable channels, created digital applications for its formats and produced programmes based on international formats. In the near future, it hopes to produce content for streaming platforms.

The appeal of reading
In a country with poor reading habits in which the publishing industry is constantly battling hardship, since 2006, Guerra & Paz has taken a leading role, thanks to its persistence and innovation. It invests in various editorial collections, which it places in high-profile distribution channels such as kiosks, as well as the traditional bookshops, and regularly edits the CMTV collection with the aid of advertising on that TV station.
As well as reediting classics and keeping the titles in its catalogue alive and in circulation, among them, works by great Portuguese writers, its investments include the executive production of books, institutional works and prestigious and luxury editions sponsored by major companies and foundations.
